The village of Frigiliana is located 10 minutes drive inland from Nerja and the coast.
Frigiliana is a maze of white-washed houses in cobblestone streets and passageways, which in the spring boast courtyards and terraces overflowing with flowers.
Frigiliana´s history is mapped out by a series of twelve ceramic plaques posted about the town which explain the entire story through the ages.
As the town improves its facilities, it is becoming increasingly popular for self catering holidays and has a very good range of small shops, bars and excellent restaurants. It is also famous for its fiestas, concerts, carnivals and religious celebrations. They even run Bulls through the narrow streets in June.
The village and surrounding areas offer a wide range of walks, ranging from simple routes around the edge of the town, to more adventurous walks within the countryside, which can take all day, but offer outstanding scenery. You have the choice of walking in the hills of the natural park or following the river miles up into the park passing beautiful waterfalls.
For Couples -
Frigiliana is a great setting for a romantic break, with an excellent choice of fine restaurants, cosy bars and interesting shops and boutiques.
